Avion Express is a narrow-body ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, Insurance) and charter operator. Avion Express provides top-level short and long-term aircraft wet-leasing (ACMI) solutions and also offers its clients aircraft on a charter basis. The company operates an Airbus A320 family aircraft fleet.

ARE YOU READY TO?

  • Following and familiarizing with the procedures and guidance on EU Ramp Inspection Programme issued by EASA;
  • Planning inspections (and items) based on actual aircraft SAFA ratio (use all available sources, e.g. EASA/ internal sources/etc);
  • Be the point person in preparing schedules;
  • Conducting inspections as per SAFA/SACA inspection plan set up internally together with Head of Technical Compliance;
  • Submitting Ramp Inspection paperwork and other evidence to Centrik, i.e. Proof of inspection forms, uploading inspection photos, other relevant information and evidence gathered while performing ramp inspector duties;
  • Following up raised non-conformities for proper rectification within the agreed timescale;
  • Be the point person for monitoring raised non-conformities;
  • Preparing and attending the regular internal meetings with Head of Technical Compliance to discuss all aspects of the ramp inspection process (e.g. time management, efficiency of the inspection, team coordination, problems encountered, lessons learned, etc.);
  • Being familiar with the documentation used for the inspection tasks;
  • Present inspection results to aircraft maintenance organizations after every inspection;
  • Ensuring that all data necessary to undertake assigned duties is available;
  • Participating and supervising aircraft maintenance events;
  • Participating in aircraft acceptance process (for inspection);
  • Maintaining a good knowledge of the company procedures and associated regulatory requirements of each respective area;
  • Knowing the documentation used for the audit tasks;
  • Participation in the base maintenance events to perform deep aircraft inspections;
  • Monitor SAFA/SACA ratio and analyze existing trends, areas required for improvement;
  • Control and supplement aircraft inspection checklist based on internal company and regulatory requirements;
  • Prepare fleet review reports quarterly and present them to the Head of Technical Compliance;
  • Granting and controlling finding extensions;
  • Ensuring that the quality/compliance standards conducting the audit are met;
  • Submitting the Audit results and any finding raised to the Head of Technical Compliance and auditee;
  • Be the point person for communicating and solving external Authority non-confirmities in the EU SAFA database;
  • Preparation and presentation of SAFA Gate quarterly reports to the Avion Express/Avion Express Malta management; 
  • Be the point person in solving complex problems arising from aircraft defect closures;
  • To be the main person in communication with existing aircraft inspectors, their preparation.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

Qualification requirements:

  • A320 Family technical knowledge, A/C familiarization courses;
  • Knowledge of technical processes and regulations;
  • University or other aviation education and no less than 2 years’ experience in aviation (Part-145/Part-CAMO organizations);
  • Adequate knowledge of English language to understand documents and instructions related to the audited function;
  • Basic Auditor training would be considered as an advantage;
  • Experience in auditing would be an advantage;
  • FTS, HF, and EWIS would be an advantage;
  • EU Ramp Inspection Programme (SAFA) – Inspectors’ Initial Theoretical & Practical training would be an advantage.
